I've always wondered why no-one ever uses alumna and alumnae anymore. Maybe "alumni" is like "guys" in the sense that it's come to refer to both genders now?

I found it on Capcom-Unity. Admittedly, it's pretty skewed in that there are many Capcom characters. Regardless, it looks quick and easy enough, so I'll probably follow it until the end. |

I like what I see from the tests thus far. It looks gorgeous! I hope these testers can help make the gameplay good. It sure could use more Shermie, but oh well, I can wait until XIII or XIV or whatever-- 98UM and 2002UM will keep me busy in the meantime.
Speaking of the beta testers, XII has provided this humorous moment already:

Crosspost from Multiply and Facebook! The current meme that's sweeping through the nation. Bear with me... this is all from old CD's and mp3's from my HD's, old and new (okay, mostly old).
RULES:
1. Put your MP3 player, iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.

Can't sleep. I guess this is what an afternoon-to-evening shift can do to one's body clock.

Whew. That previous (personal) entry was quite serious.
I haven't been able to update in a while because I've been busy. (There's the matter of that old, quick con report and some reviews that are still in the backburner. Ah well, that, and the details of work will be up as entries eventually.)
Work...well, it has it high points and low points. The work hours are long and I'd say the structure and relationships thing in the workplace is utter BS, among other things. But the pay and conditions are livable enough for the time being. I am blessed to have such a nice boss, as well.

Every time I come home feeling pissed and/or tired from a difficult day, there are things that I rely on to reverse the mood. For example, the Shoryuken.com Naruto thread is an absolute riot of a read, especially if you're a regular there.
Occasionally, there's some funny stuff that's also facepalm-worthy.

Day was crap. Traffic in Calamba was atrocious. (THREE godless HOURS in a route that usually takes TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES!), and the job interviews (or to be specific, the rejection that comes with those things-- I'm starting to thing that they're really a task and a half) sucked so much.
I'm still coming to terms with many terms this week. As such, I don't want to dwell on the sad and disappointing too much.
So in the meantime, quick distraction before I go to bed.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
I'm quite happy with this one. I was hoping that she'd be one of the results. It's funny. I answer these things truthfully (I don't know why) and yet hope for some specific character, especially when some of the choices are apparent as hell. |

Excerpt from a group conversation (paraphrased). While walking to the restaurant to get dinner, some weeks ago. I forget who:
"I'm not comfortable with calling it 'barbecue' to be honest. It's more of of a, 'barbee-stack', you know? Since people normally start eating at the sharp end, it's a LIFO process."
When the bulk of SOMA are CS majors, outbursts of nerd humor such as that are bound to happen.
Sucks that there's only two Chem majors in the bunch. And I'm all alone if you discount teachers. It's a rough world. |

Dammit. I really, really meant to write a long journal entry about how my college life has wrapped up, and how I'm at the crossroads, at the limbo between uni and employment.
The days leading to graduation have been really busy. I've been emailing people left and right, sometimes even visiting offices here and in the cities nearby to attend to interviews and take screening tests in person. Not to mention I have to pay my dues, remain in contact with the old folks back in Davao and the profs, and make absolutely sure that everything goes well come Saturday.
Oh well. I guess I'll just save the links and ramblings in Open Office, for now.
I haven't done this in a while, so I guess, in lieu of textual content (that will come, I am sure of it):
I'm not sure I like this result 100%. I would like to believe I like frappes and capuccino variants more. The only black-and-strong that I ever did like is this local blend. |
