I was going to comment on some of the changes that will happen in my life in the coming year. But as it is, I am a)too addicted to SF4 and b) too tired or bothered with work and c) confused and unwilling to make decisions yet. Or at least, commit them to blog.
So in the meantime, I'll just tackle the small stuff of interest.

The Manila-bound bus screened that awful Wolverine Origins movie the other day. I did my hardest to look away (and out into the window instead). It's a shame. X1 (which I also revisited recently) feels dated now, but I thought it was an admirable first attempt. It did put superhero movies back in the big league, if nothing else. I remember really liking X2 as well. X3 was mediocre. I think it was mostly the old director's fault, for jumping ship. (In the process, giving us a sucky X movie and a forgettable Superman one). I thought it wouldn't get worse than that, but Wolvy managed to pull it off.
What can I say? I like Deadpool to a fault too. It really pains me, what they did. He's the merc with a mouth, and yet towards the end...gah.

They bus hands did redeem themselves by showing concert DVD's thereafter.
Queen is incredible. Their front man (RIP) was really something. It's not hard to see why the Japanese got hooked.
Without Queen, there would be no Mike Haggar, and no Eagle. There would be no Sol. Heck, there would be no Guilty Gear in general.
and of course, this milestone in animated history would have not existed. |

No matter how shittastic I perceive the fanbase to be, or how wack some of the (more contemporary) games are and no matter how feminine the new male characters are, I'll always have the music of KOFs '96 through '99 with me. They never fail to deliver. Listening to them always brings back memories and mostly good feeling. |

Strider's NxC theme = awesome. Do tell if you have it and where I can possibly get it (DC/DC++ hub and their quota or requirements, sites, etc.).
Also, fucking Devil Kazuya and his fuckton of life. I just noticed he's got even more HP than Saaya. |

The new Gorillaz album, Demon Days, is good. It's the same laid-back, cruise-speed, happy and upbeat fare. It's the stuff that endeared the first album to me. Although the first few playthroughs suggest there's no Gorillaz song that has replaced 19-2000 as my favorite, I'm very willing to give it a bit more time, to let one of the songs to genuinely grow on me. It's hip, and I'm satisfied with my purchase. |

School's out. For better or for worse I finished the last of my exams earlier. All that remains to be done is to pay the bills and submit some materials for my thesis, and I can call it a semester. ^_^

I was just studying earlier. The local oldies radio had an Easter Beatles marathon. It was great.
I was intoduced to them by my father and my uncle, both of whom are very much into the so-called Beatlemania. Personally, I liked how the band's music evolved from the catchy, gimmicky love songs early on to the experimentation in the electronic instruments (afaik they were among the first to do so), to the hip and Indian-inspired (mainly due to George Harrison) and hip music later.
What can I say? I love virtually all their stuff, and harbor respect, since I've been listening to them since I was 9. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is quite possibly my favorite album ever.
Oh and yeah, for you Tekken-heads, they have songs entitled "Anna", "Julia", and "Michelle". |
